Yuro Matcha Bowl with handle and spout

The Yuro matcha bowl is hand-thrown on a potter's wheel from grey clay with a touch of grog, and finished with a glaze made according to centuries-old Japanese tradition. It's part of the limited KOOE × MOYA series, created by KOOE, a ceramics studio based in Kraków. KOOE's pieces are known not only for their beautiful forms but also for their exceptional durability, thanks to high-temperature firing. The spout means you can pour your matcha into a glass without spilling a drop. Every bowl in this series is a one-of-a-kind handmade piece, so its appearance and size may vary slightly from the photos.

The chawan (matcha bowl) is a traditional tool of the Japanese tea ceremony. It's also by far the most comfortable vessel for preparing and drinking matcha, which is best whisked with a bamboo whisk (chasen). The bowl's straight sides and wide base make it easy to whisk matcha into the water and quickly build a layer of froth on top. Keep in mind that the water you use for matcha shouldn't be hotter than 80°C (176°F).
