Matcha bowl Kaze with a spout

The Kaze matchawan with a spout is hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel from gray clay with a subtle addition of chamotte and a glaze prepared in accordance with centuries-old Japanese tradition. It was created as a limited KOOE for MOYA series by the Kraków ceramic studio KOOE, whose pieces are known not only for their beautiful forms but also for exceptional durability thanks to high-temperature firing. The spout helps you pour matcha into a glass without spills. Each bowl in this series is a unique handmade piece, so its appearance and size may vary slightly from the one shown.

Matchawan is the traditional bowl used in the Japanese tea ceremony and makes matcha preparation very easy. When whisking matcha with a bamboo whisk (chasen) the tall vertical walls of the matchawan help to prevent the water from spilling. The broad bottom of the bowl makes it easy to whisk the powder smoothly inside and quickly obtain the perfect froth on the surface. Please remember to use water not exceeding 80 °C temperature to preserve all the matcha properties.
